Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers a beautiful and clean room overlooking the Old Wooden Schoolhouse garden, providing probably the best sleep experience away from home. It's a great retreat from the crowds with a lovely view. The service is friendly and accommodating, although not very helpful with mobility issues. The location is central, integrated into the old town area with balconies and staircases winding over shops, even though it overlooks an access road where delivery trucks unload in the early morning. The dining experience is fantastic, offering a cold style breakfast with bagels and fruit. The facilities are well-maintained, making the stay pleasant overall.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The rooms were incredibly nice and very clean; I wish I could've taken the bed and pillows home with me, that's how comfy they were. The breakfast was also very nice and the overall vibe of the hotel was quaint, just like the historic district of SA. On the downside, the rooms are a bit of a walk through a main pedestrian area from check-in, which caught me by surprise, and they are in a separated series of buildings, which is kind of an odd arrangement.
The hotel offers a mix of exceptional and disappointing features. The rooms were the best we have ever experienced with a sitting area and a large enough table, but B room was probably one of the worst in the complex. The service was outstanding, going above and beyond to help with any queries, although some noise disturbances due to delivery men impacted the location's charm. The dining experience was simple and good, enjoyed in the courtyard, but some expectations were not fully met. Overall, a great value for money option in a historic district.
The hotel offers a great view of St George Street and is located right across from Castillo de San Marcos, making it convenient for exploring the historic area. The rooms are clean with older furniture, yet comfortable and provide a pleasant smell of chocolate from Kilwins below. The service is exceptional, going above and beyond to assist guests in various ways. The dining options are satisfactory to start your day and unwind in the on-site wine bar. The location is fantastic for exploring the historic and tourist areas on foot.
